We are starting to calve our second crop of daughters out of 4304 and are very pleased with their fleshing ability, moderate size, feet and leg structure, and calving ease. The 4304 daughters are the largest sire group in both our first- and second-calving heifers because of the ability of this sire to produce higher performance with good carcass and leave the right size and kind of females in the herd. Fertility does not seem to be an issue with this sire’s daughters as all of the first calvers bred back, the majority doing so at the beginning of the breeding season. Also, out of 30 yearlings and a short breeding season, there were only two open.
